My husband and I recently decided to move to England for a couple years. My husband was offered a spot in a fantastic MBA program there, so we thought it would be a nice change of scenery. We had been in our house for ten years and we decided to sell it. Trying to manage a renter, while across an ocean sounded difficult. And we are not sure where we want to head after England anyway. Self storage was at the top of our list, as we thought about what we wanted to do with our belongings while we were in London. After interviewing several realtors and finally deciding on the one we liked, we realized self storage was going to become part of our lives for quite a while.
Our realtor wasted no time evaluating things and jotting a list down for us. She began with, “I like to get down to business and tell it like it is. If you are sensitive, let me know. Otherwise, I am ready with a list of things you need to do.” We told her we were ready. Then, out of her mouth, came the best advice I could ever give someone who is selling a house. “This is no longer your house.” “Once you realize that, it makes it much easier to get the house ready.” Long before we packed up the big stuff for London, we were going to need Self storage for lots and lots of things the realtor said should not be hanging about. Our closets needed to only be filled only about a third of capacity, to give the illusion of space, and we had way to many dressers. She said the house should be like a blank canvas on which prospective buyers can place their ideas. She swapped out our comfy couch and chair with a stodgy Victorian era white set that made us feel like giants when we sat on it. You can see where this is going. By the time she was done with the list, we needed another house to put all the things from our house that someone else might not like.
We got a space in one of those self storage buildings nearby. We took a lot of stuff over there. All the stodgy furniture items delivered to the house for staging meant all our cozy real people couches and such were put in self storage. Luckily, it did not take too long to sell the house, so we could then focus on what we would put in storage, what we would take to London and what we would sell on Craigslist. We decided to put the things we were going to leave behind in a self storage place close to where my parents live. We had to fit in a weekend trip there, in the comfort of a large moving truck, to move everything into storage. We emptied the self storage unit we rented when we were selling the house, moved some of the contents to a new storage place, shipped some of it to England, and sold what we thought we would not want later. I felt like it was all very George Carlin with the “you gotta move to a new place to hold your stuff” shtick.

Portable Storage Units can be leased to you for a long duration of time at nominal cost and can also be stored away in a company warehouse till such time you wish the Portable Storage Unit to be delivered at your new place of residence or new address of delivery. So should you move into a smaller apartment and have a few months to go before you can shift into a larger place and your stuff requires a secure storage place, Portable Storage Unit is the answer.
Portable Storage Units can also be used for storing perishable items or items requiring environmental controls. Depending on your specific need, the Portable Storage Unit can also be equipped with environment control equipment which control temperature and humidity. The advantage of Portable Storage Units lies in the ability to adapt the interiors of the unit to suit your requirements.

Also in the absence of a place to store your stuff at the new location, the moving companies will also store the pods.
This is a convenient service especially when you need to make arrangements for a permanent home in the new city. Thus moving using pods mean that the entire relocation is handled safely and expediently. The moving companies offer the entire repertoire of relocating services, from delivering the pods to your doorstep, moving the packed containers and storing them until you request delivery.
Pods bring all the benefits of traditional moving services, and then some.

The structural design comes with easy to fasten partitions that keep your belongings safe during the actual moving.
Whats more you can even order containers based on the number of rooms in your home, to get a rough idea about the space you need. For every regular sized room, you may need around 250 cubic feet of pod space, adding a little extra for rooms with larger furniture and fixtures. Using personal boxes of different colors can also make unpacking at your new residence easier. A ready to use kit of essential items is also a wise idea.

This means, the company will deliver and leave the storage boxes with you and you can fill them up at your own time and convenience. Then after you have finished and whenever you are ready, just call them for the best time for pick up. That is the only time they will pick up your storage containers. When you want them to deliver the container is also something you can specify. You can even keep your storage containers in their many storage facilities if you want.
